The Rock Mission Trip - Day Three Photo Dump

Day Three Photo Dump

Block Party and CC Kensington Family Night

Hey Church! Thank you for your ongoing prayers!
As we make our way home, we are spending time reflecting on all God did in and through us.
Here are some photos from yesterday’s events.

Block Party

We set up at Hissey Playground with games and activities to connect with the youth and children in this community.
Katie from the Rock Ministries inviting a young mother to church.
Roberto, Nate, and Makayla play basket with some of the youth from the church and a new kid  who we later invited to attend the youth group on Friday nights.
Roberto discovered bubbles while at the park.
This is a typical sight all over town. This man was at the park when we arrived and then slowly made his way out of the playground. Below is another typical sight around town.

Family Night Prep

MIcah and Cathy wash dishes after dinner prep for the the family event.
Roberto and Sarah were on taco meat duty, cooking up ground beef for the event.
Elijah and Hector wait. To deliver the deserts after the teaching.
This was a busy day, filled with a late night of cleaning and preparing to leave early this morning to attend CC Philly’s 8:00am service before heading home. Thanks for following along and praying. We can’t wait to share more with you all soon.
I leave you with some words from Sarah.

“The Lord is at work at the Rock Ministries, Kensington is a very dark place. The Rock is a bright light in this darkness. This morning we visited Calvary chapel Philadelphia and our message was in Exodus 10, Pastor Focht talked about the plague of darkness and in verse 21 it talks of darkness that can be felt. But as we ministered along side the Rock Ministries there is much light also present, the love of Jesus is present. Calvary Chapel Kensington is a refuge for many in this area. We witnessed several kids come by any time the doors were open to them. We saw adults come in off the street to seek refuge in the coffee shop from the world outside. So many stuck in a hopeless situation, but the rock is facilitating a way out for those ready to meet Jesus. I find myself heartbroken for this area and past experiences I’ve allowed myself to be hardened over.

Please pray for the staff and interns at the Rock ministries to continue to stand strong against the darkness and to remain soft in the work the Lord has given them.

I would encourage you to go to Kensington if you have the opportunity to visit.

Hosea 6:3
Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, Like the latter and former rain to the earth.
