Serve @ CCF

There are a variety of areas in which you can serve here at CCF, ways for you to use the gifts God has given you as well as many practical ways to serve. Below is a list of the areas of ministry currently in need of help. If you're interested any of the areas below click the "I Want to Serve'" link to have a pastor or leader contact you.

I WANT TO SERVE

  • Requires a minimum of 6 months church attendance and the completion of a ministry questionnaire form. Commitment is one Sunday each month. Opportunities are available in Nursery - Elementary classes, and our youth class on Sundays and Wednesday nights.

  • Usher and Greeters are the first people that any visitor usually sees. It’s an important role that invites and welcomes those coming to worship. Commitments range from once a week to once a month.

  • The Bread of Life is a wonderful ministry in which to serve if you, a) love God, b) take serious the illustration of serving Him by serving others, (MT 25:34-40), c) aren’t afraid to speak with those you have not yet befriended and d) have some availability during the weekday and weekend mornings between 8a-10am.

    Opportunities:

#1 — Weekday Bread pick up & Delivery: Join the team of servants that pick-up food donations from local grocery stores and immediately deliver those goods to specific apartment complexes throughout Winston Salem. Pick-up and delivery can occur up to seven days a week and typically take place around 8:00am but may be adjusted to match your availability and with donor store agreement.

    Capability:

A consistent willingness to pick up food and take it to a predetermined location.

Ideally, it is desired that you could share a very short devotional Bible study or even read a few verses from the Bible. Praying with any residents assembled would be a minimum expectation.

Having a pickup truck is not mandatory but definitely helpful.

Having multiple large ice chests and the vehicle to carry them is critical. Similarly, storage space for several boxes is also important.

    Commitment:

Three months on a specific day of the week.

#2 — Friday and Saturday Bread pick up & preparation for curbside event: every Saturday morning between 9am-11am, an event is hosted in the church parking lot where food is given away and prayers offered. The food to support this event is collected Fridays and Saturdays.

    Capability:

A consistent willingness to pick up food and take it the church every Friday and/or Saturday.

Ideally, it is desired that you would remain at the church after Saturday pick to serve in the prayer event. Having the ability to pray with any visitors is recommended and the ability to speak Spanish is valuable but not required.

    Commitment:

One or two weekends a month.

#3 — Sunday morning Bread pick up & Delivery to Crystal Towers: Join a small team of servants that pick-up food donations from Publix and immediately delivers it to an 11-story high-rise apartment complex on Sixth Street. The ability to prepare and share a brief devotional Bible study is also necessary. Pick-up and delivery commences at 8:00am every Sunday except when Sunday falls on an observed holiday when Publix closes their doors.

    Capability:

A consistent willingness to pick up food from Publix on Miller Street and take it to Crystal Towers Apts on Sixth Street while bringing back a small portion to the church family as well.

Having a pickup truck is not mandatory but definitely helpful.

Having multiple large ice chests and the vehicle to carry them is critical. Similarly, storage space for several boxes is also important.

Upon occasion, you may be required to transport people to church from this location and then return them after church.
