CHURCH BULLETIN

Wednesday Night Gathering

Our goal for our Wednesday night gatherings is to engage in further discussions about God’s word. This is a night dedicated to worship and revisiting Sunday’s message, exploring its wisdom and instructions for our lives. It’s an excellent place for questions and those seeking to deepen their understanding of God’s word.

We meet at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary. Children’s ministry is available.

Marrieds Ministry

Join us Friday, July 10, at 7:00pm for our Marrieds Ministry Gathering. This ministry exists for married and engaged couples who want to build strong, Christ-centered marriages that reflect God’s love and principles. We meet quarterly to eat, receive practical teaching and encourage each other. This gathering will be a taco night, the main dishes will be provided, but we kindly request that each couple bring a side dish. Options include beans, rice, chips, salsa, salad, and drinks.

To stay connected on future gathering, join our Married’s Ministry Group on our church app HERE.

Location: 3975 Philpark Dr, WInston Salem, 27106

Operation Christmas Child Collection

We're excited to kick off our Operation Christmas Child "item of the month" collection again this year. Each month, we'll invite you to purchase a specific item and bring it to church to help fill shoeboxes at our church packing party in November.
June’s focus is personal care items - items like combs/brushes, toothbrushes, nail clippers/files, band-aids, wash cloths and water bottles (remember no soap). You can drop donated items in the marked bins at the back of the church.

Clothing Closet Update

We sincerely appreciate your generosity! We have a substantial amount of clothing to sort through. However, due to a shortage of volunteers, we will be temporarily suspending our clothing closet ministry on Saturday's and clothing collection thru the summer. The Clothing Closet will be open and available twice a month following our Sunday service for 15 min. If you would like to see how you may help email us and Cathy Griffith will contact you.

Missions Update.

Hey Church,

When Jesus commissioned his disciples he sent them locally, regionally and beyond. So we look to support missionaries abroad, support ministries regionally and look for opportunities to serve locally. May God lead us in every area He wants to use us.

Latrelle and Abby Standifer - CCR, Honduras

I want to start this missions update first off by welcoming back Latrelle and Abby Standifer from the mission field. They left a year ago to serve alongside Abby's parents in Honduras. Fulfilling a year’s commitment, the time has come and the Lord has brought them back to NC with their young daughter, Ruth. I want to invite you to be praying for them as they begin this new chapter of life. Transitioning back to living in America, no matter how long you've been away, is always a challenge. Latrelle will begin working for a company out of Greensboro, and Abby will work remotely for Carolina University. Praise God for his provision of employment! Pray for God's provision for a home for them to settle in and grow as a family and direction for the ministry God has for them here in NC.

Kefas and Tina Momoh - Lagos, Nigeria

This week, I spoke to Pastor Kefas of Calvary Chapel Lagos. He praised God for the work he has been accomplishing through the ministry while he and his family face some challenging situations. Kefas' mother passed away a few months ago. He was unable to return to his home state immediately, so the family postponed her burial till he could come. Before leaving to bury his mother, he received notice that the city had condemned the building he and his family have lived in for over a decade. The owners were not willing to make the repairs to the building, so the city has given the occupants 30 days to vacate the property. Kefas is now in a situation of finding and securing a new place of residence for his family quickly, as well as securing the funds to do so, which are about $5500 (paid annually upfront). Between our support we send each semester (which is set aside from your tithes and offerings) and another supporting church here in the states, and a few gifts so far, we will be sending Kefas and Tina $2,382. This is under half of what they need.
Please join with us as we pray for Kefas and Tina in this time. We know God will provide and carry them through the difficulties of this situation.

When I spoke with Kefas, even with this weight heavy on his heart, he was still praising God for the opportunities they've had to preach the gospel in a new prison church/ministry, the establishment of a new fellowship on Lagos Island, the ongoing youth ministry in local schools, and a Bible training center for pastors and leaders that moved closer to Lagos giving more opportunities to train other pastors for the ministry. So we praise God with them!

What We're Doing

Last but not least! We are heading out to serve at the Rock Ministries in Kensington, PA. on August 20-23. The Rock is a ministry out of Calvary Chapel of Kensington that ministers to one of the poorest neighborhoods in the nation, with high rates of homelessness, fatherless homes, drug addiction, and hopelessness.  The area around the church comprises one of the most active drug areas in the country.  All this means they are surrounded with nearly endless ministry opportunities! We will have opportunities to do street outreach and evangelism, host children's activities in the neighborhood and with the Rock's youth ministry, practical things like helping with facility maintenance, and more. The cost is $100 per person for meals while at the ministry (plus spending money). We currently have 2 spots available.
If you're interested in attending, go HERE and fill out the form.

Opportunities

This week I learned of a need within our community. Samaritan's Ministry is an interdenominational Christian ministry where members of the community strive to be examples of the Christian gospel and to share their beliefs with all who come through the door. They do so by providing food and shelter for those in need every day.
They made their need for lunch and dinner service volunteers known the other day through the local news outlet. They are in need of help serving lunch (Mon-Sat; 9am-1:30pm) and dinner (Mon-Sat; 5:00pm-7:30pm). I believe this would be a great opportunity to get out in the community, to help meet needs and share the gospel. If you are interested in organizing a volunteer group, I'd love to talk with you!

The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few, therefore pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. (Matt. 9:37-38) And may the compassion the Lord for the lost and hurting fill our hearts!

Pray always,
Pastor Kyle

Opportunities To Serve

CALVARY KIDS TEACHER AIDS

Join us in making a meaningful impact for God’s kingdom by volunteering in our Calvary Kids Ministry! We have exciting opportunities for assistant teachers in our pre-K and elementary classes. Serve once every four weeks on Sunday mornings and connect with families in our church community. If you’ve been part of our fellowship for over six months, this is the perfect way to start serving. No prior experience is needed—just a heart ready to make a difference!

Sound Team

Do you have an ear for how things should sound? Join our sound team on Sundays. fill out the 'I WANT TO SERVE' form and let us know!

Cleaning Team

Do you like to work behind the scenes? There are opportunities to help with the care and cleaning of our church building a couple of times a week. Friday at midday a team meets at the church to clean. Sunday morning following the morning service a team meets down stairs to tidy up and clean the children's classes. This is a great way to meet others and help in the care of what God has provided for us. If you are interested fill out the 'I Want to Serve' form link.
